Overview

Overview

Gesstiona is one of Ecuador’s leading law firms, but their old website didn’t do them justice. They needed a space that felt just as trustworthy and sharp as their legal team. I led the redesign from the ground up, starting with research and conversations that helped shape a cleaner, more intuitive structure. The result is a responsive site built on WordPress that brings their services, client stories, and insights to the front. Everything now feels aligned with who they are.

About Project

About Project

This project was all about helping Gesstiona look as sharp online as they are in person. They’ve built a strong name in Ecuador’s legal world, and they needed a site that reflected that level of trust and professionalism. I focused on creating something clean, modern, and easy to navigate, so anyone landing on the site could quickly find what they needed without feeling overwhelmed.

Research

Research

Before jumping into design, we needed to get to know the people behind the brand and the people using it. We started with a round of research to understand what potential clients actually look for when visiting a law firm’s website and what usually turns them away.

User Interviews

User Interviews

We talked to a mix of current and potential clients to dig into their experiences with legal websites. A lot of them shared the same frustration. Most sites felt too complex or intimidating. That insight helped us simplify the content, prioritize clarity, and make sure the experience felt more welcoming and professional at the same time.

Competitive Analysis

We also did a deep dive into what other top firms were doing. While some had strong visuals, many lacked usability. Others had clear structures but felt cold and outdated. We took the best of both worlds (clean design and intuitive flow) and used that as a benchmark to guide our decisions for Gesstiona.

Problem and Solution

Problem and Solution

Gesstiona had a solid reputation in the legal world, but their website wasn’t backing it up. It was hard to navigate, didn’t reflect their brand, and felt more like a placeholder than a true digital experience. Through research and close collaboration with their team, we broke the main challenges down and tackled them one by one.

User Persona

User Persona

User Persona

We designed with corporate execs in mind. These are people who need clarity, trust, and quick answers (no fluff). They’re looking for expert support they can count on, and a site that respects their time.

Information Architecture

Information Architecture

Information Architecture

We kept things simple. Services are easy to find, pages are clearly labeled, and nothing is buried. The goal was to help users land, scan, and get what they need without overthinking it.

User Flow

Everything was mapped to feel natural. Whether someone wants to learn about the firm, explore services, or get in touch, the path feels smooth and straight to the point.

Wireframes

We sketched out the key pages early (Home, About, Services, and Contact) just to make sure the structure felt right before diving into visuals. This helped us test ideas quickly and focus on what really mattered.

Design System

Design System

The visual language is clean, modern, and grounded in trust. We used a blue and white palette, paired with simple typography and friendly UI elements that keep things clear and professional without feeling cold.

High-Fidelity Screens

Once the structure and content were locked in, we brought everything to life through clean visuals and thoughtful interactions. Each screen was designed to feel simple, sharp, and genuinely useful across every device.

Clear navigation

Easy-to-follow menu so users find what they need right away.

Responsive layout

Designed to adapt seamlessly from desktop to mobile.

Content that speaks

Added legal blog updates and designed service pages that are informative without being overwhelming.

Smarter contact forms

Redesigned forms to feel more natural and user-friendly.

Built on WordPress

The site was set up so the team can update content, post on the blog, and make changes whenever they need without the help of a developer.

Metrics, Results & Takeaways

Metrics, Results & Takeaways

Metrics, Results & Takeaways

In just six months, the new site helped Gesstiona grow its audience, boost engagement, and attract more clients than expected. These numbers reflect a design that truly connected with the people it was built for.

“The new site really changed the game for us. It’s clean, easy to use, and clients have been saying great things. We’ve seen more people reaching out, and it’s clear the design is doing its job. We couldn’t be happier with how it turned out.”

Takeaways

Takeaways

Takeaways

This project was a great example of how much you can achieve with good collaboration and clear direction. We kept improving the design based on real feedback and made sure the experience felt smooth for users from the start. Building it on WordPress gave the team the freedom to manage things on their own without relying on developers. What I appreciated most was helping the firm go from a basic online presence to something that actually feels like them. Confident, approachable, and professional.
